With just three weeks to go until the annual INDE.Summit, we’re excited to formally announce our full suite of speakers and moderators who will be heading up a full day of knowledge sharing. Set to be held online on Wednesday August 9, 2023, this year’s INDE.Summit will be a virtual meeting of the minds unlike any other, offering a unique regional perspective on the topics that matter most to you.
Led by a keynote on futurism and AI by Dr. Eduard Hovy, the day will follow a thematic sequence around “The Future is Here”, with each panel unpacking how architecture and design is responding to a climate that is demanding instant and progressive changes to the ways we live and work.
Your free registration will give you access to 10 sessions which will feature insights from global, regional and local leaders in areas including workplace, sustainability, affordability, social value, culture and society and more. Each panel will bring innovators, disruptors and luminaries together for a collection of perspectives that will challenge, inform and inspire you and your practice moving forward.
Architectus’ Marina Carroll will lead a morning session on education and design shifts to the paradigm of institutional architecture, where HDR’s Graeme Spencer will bring a scientific driven perspective, Tara Veldman (BLP) will look at how health informs institutions, Rajat Khanna (GSA) will offer a global perspective and Sarika Shetty (SJK Architects) will reflect on how these changes have been driven by intersections with culture.
For the much anticipated panel on workplace design, Sue Fenton (Woods Bagot), Kellie Payne (Bates Smart) and Tom Herron (HASSELL) will provide insights from some of the world’s leading practices, while Nick Todd (Era-co) will bring a real estate and workplace experience perspective honed through his time at Atlassian and Macquarie, and Colin Seah (Ministry of Design Singapore) will shake things up with a look at how workplaces are being elevated through an intersection with different building typologies (see more at Ministry of Design’s INDE.Award winning project Citi Wealth Hub).
Jeremy Smith, Principal of Irving Smith Architects, will keep the insights rolling with a must-see panel on housing, unpacking the industry’s most pressing challenges with the help of design activist and urban designer Emma McInnes (The Urban Advisory Visualizer), accomplished architect and director Nigel Morris (SJB), sustainability innovator Sonali Rastogi (Morphogenesis) and regional design legend David Teh (PRA).
Finally, INDE.Awards Juror Whare Timu (Warren and Mahoney) will return to the program for 2023, chairing a discussion on architecture, activism and culture and its relationship to sustainable design. This panel will feature another return speaker in Ka Wai Yeung (Kaunitz Yeung Architecture) who will draw on her incredible experience working in remote areas of the region. Patrick Keane (Enter Projects Asia) and Sidhartha Talwar (Studio Lotus) will bring insights from working across Asia while Erin McDonald (Blaklash) will provide insights into working with Country to uplift Australia’s First Nation’s communities.
