Kellie Payne is an Architect and a Director of Bates Smart, one of the largest integrated architecture and interior design practices in Australia. Her experience is unique within the industry encompassing both the design of new commercial office buildings and the workplaces within. Her approach is both humanist and tectonic, using data and forecast innovations to produce places and spaces that support the future needs of their users.

Kellie also leads the Bates Smart strategy and research team that focuses on the Future of Work. Their papers include a series on The Legal Workplace, How to Master Hybrid Working, and the Future of Tenant Driven Building Design. The insight in this work is highly valued both by developers and tenants and is embedded in the workplace strategies and tenancies of Kellie’s key clients, including Corrs Chambers Westgarth, the Australian Stock Exchange, the Department of Education, ING, Channel 9, the University of New South Wales and the University of Sydney, as well as many other top tier Australian and international organisations.
