Koos de Keijzer is the founder and Principal of DKO, leading a team of 250+ architects across New Zealand, Australia, and Southeast Asia. With a Master’s in Architecture and Urban Design from Eindhoven University, he previously directed HPA Architecture, contributing to projects like the Melburnian and Beacon Cove for Mirvac.
Since founding DKO in 2000, Koos has overseen award-winning projects such as Arkadia and Eve apartments in Sydney, with a focus on innovation, sustainability, and community-driven design.
Koos also serves on urban design panels for the City of Melbourne, the Victorian Government Architect, and the National Capital Design Review Panel. He has taught at the University of Melbourne and advocates for people-centric, sustainable design.
Koos believes that “People are the greatest resource at DKO and collaboration, communication and connection are key. I feel strongly about a sense of place and having a sense of legacy so we can leave the world a better place than when we started.”
