BHP Workplace

BHP Melbourne is a forward-looking workplace that demonstrates commitment to its people, to the environment, and to the future through human-centric, sustainable and agile design. Spread over two-and-a-half interconnected workfloors and a ground-floor business lounge, the Melbourne workplace is the company’s global headquarters.

‘Brave’ was the keyword that guided the design brief, with themes emerging through stakeholder engagement including: connection to site, embedded sustainability, and respect for diversity and inclusion.

As with all BHP fit outs, connection to site was vital, but especially so for the global HQ. Place is embedded through the spatial composition, with the vivid, tactile material palette drawing inspiration from the beauty and warmth of the natural environment.

From the rich burgundies, pinks and oranges to the cooler contrasting blues and greens that allude to the minerals within BHP’s global portfolio, to the carefully curated art story that champions their sites and employees, the fit out is a brave departure from the austere blacks and greys of the former workplace.
