What encouraged us to establish PAVA is the belief that the complexities of our era demand an interdisciplinary practice and a holistic approach to design and shape the environment. By fully integrating architecture, interior, landscape and urbanism, we respond to climatic challenges, environmental degradation and rapid urbanisation, while meaningfully enhancing human life.
Our practice is rooted in crossing disciplinary boundaries and utilising research-led design to holistically revive and transform the environment by embracing growing and incremental processes. Consequently, the work of PAVA reflects growth across both visible and invisible layers, encompassing culture, economics, and environment.
We propose subtle and grounded degrees of intervention. This level of ‘care’ ranges from minimal gestures, such as ‘cleaning, organising or maintaining’ to more intensive ‘repairing, rebuilding, or building’. By identifying the necessary touch for each site, we respond specifically to its unique context and time. We believe that what design ‘does’ is empowering – calling past memories while giving hope for the future.
