Norfolk Burleigh

I’m an architect who has gradually segued into a career in photography over the last 15 years. I think to tell the whole story of a building in photos you need to capture everything from intimate details and evidence of habitation through to architectural hero shots, all in beautiful light.

The Project
Norfolk Burleigh is a new apartment building located at Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast in Queensland. Apart from its location across the road from the beach, and the views that affords, the building is characterised by organic forms and fixed and operable batten screens that filter light and views. The interiors build on the external form with natural materials and curved accents. I spent a number of days on location taking advantage of the different characters of the building in different lighting conditions.
