Surry Hills Village
Australia

Tom Roe is an internationally awarded photographer originally from the Isle of Wight, UK now based in Melbourne. After studying architecture he decided to pursue a career photographing the built environment, using his strong understanding of materials, structure and composition to produce compelling images for some of the world’s leading architects and designers.

The Project

Surry Hills Village transforms a once neglected 1960s shopping centre into a vibrant mixed-use urban precinct that reconnects Surry Hills and Redfern. The precinct has been divided into seven ‘villages’, realised as residential apartments, terrace houses, retail offerings, a boutique luxury hotel, commercial, heritage and public space.
