Cieran Murphy
Cieran Murphy is a Sydney-based photographer specialising in architectural photography and interior design documentation. Originally from England, Cieran has resided in Queensland for the last 12 years. His work has a heavy emphasis on line and form in his compositions. It makes sense that the eye for detail runs in the family. Cieran’s affinity with the built environment was stewarded from a young age by his architect father and exposure to architecture from a very young age. His interest in his medium extends therefore from professional, to personal.
The Project
Lune’s expansion into Sydney has brought not only its famed croissants but also an immersive design experience, thanks to emerging studio In Addition. The new flagship at Rosebery Engine Yards is a masterclass in anticipation and storytelling, with a dramatic arched entry, ebonised vestibule walls, and a striking glass cube interior. A Brutalist concrete counter anchors the space, complemented by banquette seating and a sculptural standing bar crafted from aged brass. The contrast between the ultra-modern stainless steel back-of-house and the heritage bones of the original building has been finely balanced, creating a space that feels both contemporary and deeply rooted. Inspired by celestial movements and the essence of discovery, bespoke details, such as a brass timeline and curved portals, pay homage to the Lune name, making each visit a journey beyond just pastry.
