Completed in 2024, Portman Terraces comprise seven luxury terrace houses each with their own individual street address off Portman Street in Zetland. Designed as a modern-day Victorian terrace, these four level residences are an exemplar of vertical living with direct lift access from a secure garage below to all levels.
Striking curved brick blades modulate the front façades, where each terrace is discernible from the next yet cohesive as a row. Double-height windows on Portman Street bring light into the generous internal living spaces. Consideration of privacy is given to the rear façade, where walls are angled in response to the surrounding buildings.
All terraces have an elevated ground floor with open plan living, two levels of bedrooms with ensuites and a flexible room at the top opening to a landscaped roof terrace with in-built outdoor kitchen. Interiors are ordered and precisely detailed, with muted tones and texturally rick materials to complement the crafted sculpted architecture. The roof of the terraces, seen from above, is treated as a fifth elevation and given the same careful attention as the other facades. The integrated landscape is conceived as part of the project, offering shade, privacy and a wonderful outlook from within.
