Five on Florence is a boutique development that bridges Brisbane’s historic woolstores and iconic Queenslander homes. This project comprises five full-floor, three-bedroom residences, blending contemporary design with the area’s architectural heritage. The design respects its context, enhancing the streetscape’s rhythm while paying homage to its surroundings. Street-level brickwork echoes the neighbourhood’s industrial character, creating a tactile pedestrian experience. Above, fluted reflective glazing draws on the verticality of corrugated roofing, merging the building with the sky and preserving the prominence of the woolstores.
Each residence embraces Brisbane’s subtropical climate, with north-east orientations, spacious balconies, and integrated planters that promote natural ventilation and a connection to nature. Fluted concrete balustrades continue the vertical motif, marrying form and function. Plus Architecture’s vision for Five on Florence—a “chandelier in the streetscape”—delivers dynamic reflections and light play, earning acclaim for its contextual approach and strong market response.
