Our project, named QR3D, is a four-storey landed home and is Singapore’s first 3D-printed house, marking a significant milestone in our studio’s professional journey and contribution to Singapore’s construction landscape. The advancement of construction technologies is very often held back by real-life implementation. In collaboration with local construction firm CES_InnovFab, QR3D was undertaken as a prototype for multi-storey 3D-printing architecture within Singapore’s urban context.
The project sets out to demonstrate 3D-printing as a practically viable and transformative technology for the built environment sector. It is with hope that QR3D will raise interest and increase 3D-printing’s adoption rate within the construction industry, and ultimately be more viable, accessible, and economical in Singapore and perhaps even wider within our region.
