The Rushworth P-12 College Technology Centre revitalises this regional school on Taungurung Country, delivering a contemporary learning environment that embraces both heritage and innovation. Developed as part of a strategic masterplan, the project replaces outdated buildings with a dynamic Technology Centre and a new town square, strengthening the school’s connection to the local community. Designed for Design Technology, Science, and Food Technology, the centre offers versatile spaces, including a commercial kitchen, specialist workshops, and adaptable classrooms that encourage hands-on learning.

These facilities equip students with practical skills while fostering collaboration across disciplines. The design draws from Rushworth’s historic red-brick character while introducing bold contemporary elements. Sustainable strategies—such as passive cooling, rainwater harvesting, and recycled materials—reduce environmental impact and enhance comfort.

Beyond education, the centre serves as a bridge to local industries, supporting vocational pathways and community partnerships. This project sets a new benchmark for regional school design, blending heritage, sustainability, and future-focused learning.
