Kilmory House

Kilmory House reimagines a circa 1913 Arts and Crafts home into a bold, contemporary entertainer’s retreat, seamlessly blending heritage craftsmanship with modern-day luxury.

The client’s vision was clear—this was not to be a traditional residence but a space devoted to gathering, creativity, and joy. The reworked spatial planning removes conventional bedrooms, instead introducing an art studio, a private pilates and wellness space, as well as a formal dining area designed for large-scale entertaining. At its heart, the kitchen serves as a statement piece, designed to accommodate professional chefs with a striking stainless-steel island offset by rich timber joinery and hand-finished walls.

Material selection was integral, balancing historical integrity with modern artistry. Reclaimed timber, handmade tiles, and aged metals sit alongside contemporary finishes, reinforcing the home’s layered narrative. Sustainability was achieved through the restoration of original architectural features, minimising waste and celebrating the home’s existing craftsmanship.

Kilmory House is a testament to our studio’s commitment to preserving period architecture while reinterpreting it for modern living. The result is an interior that is as functional as it is expressive, offering a timeless yet unexpected approach to heritage design.
