The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) Futures project represents a pioneering approach to integrating healthcare services within a workplace setting at 635 Elizabeth Street, Melbourne.

Completed in August 2023, this initiative comprises six floors, five dedicated to workspace accommodation for RMH’s clinical and non-clinical support services, and one level to outpatient clinical services, including a Renal Dialysis Unit, Multiple Sclerosis Centre, and Neuropsychiatry services.

Anchored in the ethos of “Humanity with Purpose,” the design reflects RMH’s core values through its emphasis on Wellness, Diversity, and Biophilic Design. Natural materials, ample daylight, and thoughtful space planning are utilised to foster a therapeutic environment that elevates both patient care and staff well-being. This approach not only enhances functionality and performance but also integrates best practice sustainability principles, marking a significant advancement in architectural and design practice within the healthcare and workplace sectors.
