Working between two continents, with bases in Hong Kong and London. Joyce Wang Design Studio (JWDS) is a multi-disciplinary firm, specializing in crating highly sensory environments, which respond to their locations and the people within them. Founder of the eponymous studio, Joyce Wang describes herself as a total nomad. “I was born in Hawaii, went to school in the UK, then college in Boston, then spent a year in the Netherlands at Delft, then to London to work for Foster and study at the Royal College of Art, then LA, then in Hong Kong where I started the studio in 2011.”

Having travelled so much throughout her life, Wang’s driving philosophy for design is to create spaces that “make people feel great.” At the heart of this concept is policy for being open, honest, and inclusive, with her studio family. “We work hard, and play hard. We roll up our sleeves and get our hands dirty. Teamwork is everything.”
