PARKROYAL on Beach Road

This project transforms an arid urban rooftop – originally designed as squash courts – into a verdant, multi-dimensional wellness haven. The intervention reimagines the space as an integrated ecosystem of health, combining active and restorative functions within a cohesive spatial narrative. Programmatically, the rooftop accommodates a gym, pool, spa, multifunctional hall, wellness bar and lounge, each calibrated to support a holistic approach to wellbeing.

Active zones, including the gym and pool, are balanced by restorative environments such as the spa and restful lounge, enabling a seamless transition between exertion, recovery and reflection. Nature is central to the design language. A carefully curated landscape of willows, reeds and fountain grasses frames the pool, forming a tranquil waterscape animated by soft lighting and gentle movement. Floating daybeds and timber-lined decks introduce tactility and warmth, evoking the stillness and intimacy of a resort retreat amidst an frenetic urban context.

To complete the journey, a wellness bar offers nourishing fare, reinforcing the philosophy of balance and closing the wellness loop. The design emphasizes the senses – sight, sound, smell and touch – to evoke a distinctive Asian calmness, reflecting the essence of graceful hospitality.
